Chamber of craft Skopje
The Chamber of Crafts Skopje is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, association of craftsmen of the City of Skopje who are organized to be an appropriate partner in the policy of creating favorable conditions and climate for development and promotion of crafts, improving the quality of products and services by improving human resources by conducting trainings, presentations, professional training of craftsmen, presentation and promotion of handicraft products and services in thecountry and abroad by organizing exhibitions, presentations, fairs, and providing services. The Chamber of Crafts Skopje is founded in 1932. The Chamber of Crafts is an association whose organizational structure consists of sections organized by craftsmen members according to one or more related occupations and has about 2,500 active members from various craft sectors. The Chamber of Crafts Skopje organizes master craftsman exam trainings and conducts master craftsman exams, trainings for mentors in companies, which training is necessary for the realization of practical teaching of students in secondary vocational schools with an employer, organizing training for apprentices and others.
The mission of the Chamber of Crafts Skopje is based on the promotion and improvement of the image of crafts and secondary vocational education, trainings for craftsmen, counseling for opening a craft business, etc. The Chamber of Crafts Skopje works to promote the crafts, represent the interests of the craftsmen, give opinions and suggestions on the laws relevant to the crafts, develop the system of vocational education and based on the principles of learning through work, help to realize the apprenticeship as a measure of employment young people in crafts, counseling for starting a craft business, assistance in using subsidies for starting new craft businesses as well as assistance in applying forsubsidies to existing craft businesses, as well as performing other tasks determined by the Law on Crafts and the Statute of the Chamber. The Chamber of Crafts Skopje in secondary VET education and master exams is involved in the development of the National Qualifications Framework, and has the greatest experience in organizing and conducting master craftsman exams in the Republic of North Macedonia. The Chamber of Crafts Skopje has experience in organizing working groups that include craftsmen with extensive experience in developing occupational standards, qualification standards and master craftsman exam programs, as well as in organizing and conducting the master craftsman exam. The employees of the chamber have experience and are involved in the adoption of the new Law on Vocational Education and Training where the master craftsman exam has a level of secondary education as an integral part of vocational education that allows obtaining VB (fifth B) level of qualifications according to the Law on National qualifications framework. The Chamber of Crafts Skopje conducts trainings for demanded occupations on the labor market through verified programs through the Center for Adult Education and the Ministry of Education and Science for crafts and craft occupations, as well as continuous training for competencies required by the labor market.
