
Konya Provincial Directorate of National Education is a state institution in charge with the planning and coordination of all kinds of educational and training activities in pre-school, primary, secondary and adult education in Konya Province. Konya Province has 31 districts with 2.913 schools, 543.379 students and 36.439 teachers in total. Konya İl MEM is an umbrella organisation for all these schools and institutions. Our Directorate includes Education-Training and Student Affairs, Program Development, In-Service Training, EU Project Department, Pre-Primary Education, Special Education and Guidance, Physical Training and Sports in School, Non-Formal Education, Apprenticeship and Vocational Technical Education, Research Planning and Statistics departments. Konya İl Mem’s mission; is to ensure to boost efficiency and productivity of associated institutions and of employees and pleasure of worker and service fields; to develop education-teaching process by following modern innovations and advances, by carrying out research; to improve and to implement laws and other regulations through the general goals and fundamental principles of National Education System in Konya Province. The organization is qualified, prominent institution that has reached the level to compete equivalent institutions in Turkey and in modern countries with ensuring authentic contribution to the development of Turkish National Education System by providing effective usage of knowledge, skill, value and technology required for Knowledge Era. As Directorate of Education we have been taking part in EU funded projects actively since 2004. We have been trying to transfer all the useful applications in partner countries to our education system. We are sure that improving the education quality of our city and providing new opportunities for our future generations is possible with qualified teaching staff. We are responsible for strengthening the teaching professions of our teachers, so we hold a variety of in-service training courses for them teachers to enhance their basic and transversal skills. Projects Coordination Unit has released more than 154 projects since 2004. The staff working there are experts in writing, implementation and dissemination activities concerning the EU funded projects. As Directorate of Education we have specific expertise on several topics Technology use and new technologies, disabilities and inclusion, struggle against extremisms, bullying, Sport etc. Finance department will be responsible for the budget control of the project as the coordinator organisation.
Expertise within the objectives of this call:
KIMEM has been implementing several Erasmus+ KA2 cooperation partnerships more than 15 years. These partnerships are on school education, VET, adult, youth and Sport areas. KIMEM coordinated several projects and 6 projects in the last 5 years regarded as “Good Practice Example” from National Agencies.
We have implemented 2 Erasmus+ Sport projects and currently implementing 3 KA2 project and 1 Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Teacher training project.
Project Management: Overall project management will be coordinated by Director, vice director and 5 project senior experts. They will be responsible of coordinating all project tasks and activities.
Additionally, KIMEM is accredited in Erasmus+ KA121 SCH-VET-ADU areas since 2020. More than 1000 students, learners and teachers have been joined mobilities within accreditation.
Schools & Sport teachers: There are 3 sport secondary schools and almost 3000 schools for all types and nearly 3000 sport and physical education teachers.
Financial Management: Finance office of the KIMEM will be coordinated financial management. There will be 2 staff working for the financial issues.
Preparation of the outputs (training content, toolkit, etc.): 6 project senior expert from the project office will prepare them.
Cooperation with Governorship: for all local and international mobilities we will inform and get necessary permission from Governorship of Konya province. We will cooperate and invite them for local large-scale activities to increase impact of the project.
Collaborative Approach:
We actively collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Municipality of Konya, Provincial Social Services Directorate, Provincial Health Directorate, Directorate of Youth and Sport, Konya Seljuk University, KTO Karatay University, Necmettin Erbakan University, Konya Food and Agriculture University, Konya Technical University, Adult Education Centres, Vocational Education Centres, and Science Centre.

Within Konya Provincial National Education Directorate, the "Office of European Union Projects" coordinates EU-funded projects in the province. With a history of realizing 154 projects under the EU Projects umbrella, we continue this journey with new Erasmus+ projects, with our commitment to international collaboration and excellence.
