
Temesgen Lerebo is a highly accomplished academic and development professional from Ethiopia, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Beijing Normal University, China. He holds a Master’s degree in Vocational Education Management from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from Hawassa University.
With over 15 years of diverse experience, Temesgen has worked across higher education, social development, youth empowerment, and policy design both in Ethiopia and internationally. His professional journey includes leadership roles such as Assistant Professor at Wachemo University, College Dean at Karvard College, and Founder of both Light for Generation Development Association and Enabling Africa Training, Research, and Consultancy.
Temesgen has led numerous strategic initiatives in education reform, institutional quality assurance, TVET development, and youth employment. His expertise spans strategic planning, curriculum design, policy evaluation, and the development of monitoring and accountability systems. He has collaborated with government entities, donors, NGOs, civil society, and academic institutions to drive change and promote sustainable development.
Internationally, Temesgen served as Minister for Career Development and State Minister for Academic Affairs at the International Student Union of Beijing Normal University. He also contributed as a Counselor at Skillman.EU in Italy, organizing forums, publishing articles, and leading capacity-building initiatives.
He is an active member of several continental and global networks, including the Africa Youth Commission, African Youth Movement, UNESCO-UNEVOC, YALI, GNDR, and the World Youth Alliance. His research centers on TVET policy and strategy, with a particular focus on youth employment, skills adaptation, and labor market alignment. His current doctoral dissertation investigates strategic decision-making practices to enhance TVET responsiveness to labor market needs.
Temesgen has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and contributes to academic discourse as a board member of several educational journals, including the World Journal of Education and Humanities and the ATHENS Journal of Education.
With exceptional communication skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and a passion for learning, Temesgen continues to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
