WORKSHOP PRESENTATION:
This summer we watched Great Britain’s finest Paralympians bring home a whopping 124 medals across a range of inclusive sports, with an impressive second place finish in the medal table. As well as celebrating their success and sporting triumphs, the Paralympians used their world stage to promote and gain support for the ‘Equal Play’ campaign. Only 1 in 4 disabled children say they regularly take part in sport at school, meaning they are missing out on the essential social, psychological, developmental and physical benefits of sport and PE. This Festival of Futures session hopes to connect and inspire you, as the next generation of Teachers, PE Teachers, Coaches, Sports Scientists and Sports Rehabilitators to help make a change and learn about the opportunities within disability sport. Please join us during this Festival of Futures session dedicated to promoting disability sport and equal play for all...so that no child is left on the sidelines. The session will include: - Celebrating and introducing disability sport - Highlighting potential volunteering opportunities within inclusive sports in the North-West - Networking and connecting with local collaborations within disability sport - Moulding future curriculums throughout the education system - Inspiring research and project ideas
