Ani Sparsiashvili is the team member of Teatro Metaphora – Associação de Amigos das Artes, which is a non-profit association from Madeira, a Portuguese small island. The organization’s purpose is to develop cultural and environmental activities for the benefit and education of its community. The main actions of the organization can be grouped into three distinctive segments:
1) producing theatre shows, promotion and participation in cultural activities around various artistic disciplines, contributing thereby to the development and dissemination of cultural heritage;
2) organizing national and international projects, seminars and training, under local, national, and European programs (Erasmus+);
3) as a result of the past Youth Initiative, we develop a wide range of activities and workshops related to natural heritage, recycling, climate-changing, environmental best practices topics.
For more than 5 years organization keeps contributing to raise awareness about environmental problems, and to motivate people to consume wiser and responsibly, and teach them sustainable solutions, in an innovative and creative way.
Ani Sparsiashvili is a philologist, editor, journalist, and social media manager. She has 7 years of experience in leading and coordinating groups as a trainer, mentor, youth leader, and facilitator in volunteering activities under the projects of Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
Since 2018 working in Teatro Metaphora as a youth worker. She is in charge to manage human resources and supports the organization in planning and implementing local and international projects. Her main tasks are to develop cultural and educational activities; to manage the social media of the organization and to make the annual magazine. She works with different groups of young people in the field of non-formal education.
In 2019 her organization won the European Sustainability Award as well as a similar award Gulbenkian Sustainability Prize, at the National level by the most distinguished Portuguese foundation.
