ATG Training was established more than 50 years ago, founded by a group of engineering companies with the sole objective of delivering a broad suite of commercial courses and apprenticeship training in engineering and cycle maintenance. In 2016, ATG Training was taken over by Activate Learning. Activate Learning is a pioneering educational group with a global reach. From a single FE college, it has evolved into an international group including secondary, further and higher education, apprenticeships, workforce training, consultancy and commercial business training. In May 2018, ATG Training moved from its long-time base in Aylesbury to a new, purpose-built workshop in Oxford. This is part of a new £8 million campus shared with City of Oxford College and Activate Apprenticeships that has been created to provide a specialist hub for the teaching of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), including a state-of-the-art cycles training workshop. ATG Training engineering apprenticeships are now run by Activate Apprenticeships – see their page for more information. This website continues to offer all the information you need for commercial cycle maintenance courses and cycle maintenance apprenticeships only. ATG Training deliver the internationally recognised Cytech accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians nationwide, with dedicated training centres in London, Stafford and Oxford. Over the years the Cytech course programme has been developed and enhanced in line with the changing industry needs. This is a particular point of difference that ATG Training specialises in, given its 50 year history of being an employer and demand led training provider. We also offer the Cytech qualification as part of our apprenticeships programme. Over 10,000 Cytech technical courses have been delivered to over 5,000 candidates including staff working for some of the world’s leading bicycle distributors. Over 2,500 Cytech qualified staff are currently employed worldwide. ATG Training has close relationships with the world’s finest cycle component manufacturers and bike distributors, which help them ensure that their training is always up-to-date and professional. ATG Training possesses a record of working closely with employers to deliver high quality vocational training, tailored closely to their needs. ATG Training’s Cytech technical trainers and assessors are all cycling enthusiasts with years of experience, delivering training that meets the industry’s highest standards.
