Atlântica was born in 1996 as an institution of public interest, reaching out to be a target reference to the creation, transmission and dissemination of knowledge, science and technology through the articulation of study, teaching, research and experimental development. In 1996 we held the first degree in the Management area, Environment Territory, ICT and Management in Health and in 2001 was created the Atlantic Health School. Since then, Atlantic has extended its scientific interests and consolidated its educational aspects and research. Atlântica has 10 Bsc courses, 4 double degrees BsC courses, 5 masters and 13 Post-Graduate courses. Students that take a diploma in Atlântica have a rate of employment over 89%. Mission and Values: 1. Atlântica University is a cultural and pedagogical project that follow the following issues: 2. Strongly focused on knowledge construction and culture dissemination of technologies and related sciences; 3. Development of research projects to support the education and training on new areas; 4. Deployment of services to the communities of professionals; To promote these issues Atlântica has being building a network of excellence with different competencies that includes international researchers of Europe to achieve the top levels of performance and to provide to our students the best skills. The international mobility is one of our strategies to promote the increase of quality of our courses as well as the sharing of teachers and researchers with foreign institutions. The internationalization strategy of UNA intends to foster a contribution in this direction through the promotion of international alliances in learning and research, aiming at giving students key qualifications which are essential in our globalized society: intercultural skills, and knowledge of European and international connections. This strategy is implemented both by the Erasmus Program and by a set of agreements with universities of Portuguese speaking countries.
