Dr. Mohammad Kabir Mia is the TVET Specialist (Freelance Consultant). He brings with him a diverse multi-sectoral experience on education, skills development/TVET, child labour, humanitarian response in ILO, UNDP, ADB, USAID (OFDA), government of Bangladesh and Sudan. Mr. Mia possesses over 25 years of prolific career in Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), Bureau of Non formal Education (BNFE), Bangladesh Open University, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), ILO-IPEC, ILO-TVET Reform Project, UMCOR- Sudan and more. He has also worked as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank-Ministry of Finance and Swisscontact, British Council and Save the Children in a number of skills development projects. He contributed on behalf of ILO for the national skills development policy in 2011, National Child Labour Elimination Policy. In addition, he contributed to the formulation of the ICT Education Master Plan, non-formal education policy and NFE equivalency committee. He has several publications from BIDS Bengali journal and Bangladesh Open University and a text book on Office Management published by Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). Mr. Mia holds Master’s degree in Public Administration and Educational Administration from University of Dhaka, PhD in Non-formal Education including several diplomas in Education, Children’s Study, Human Rights and Legal Aid, Management Information Technology, Occupational Health and Safety, Project Management etc. He is trained in ILO Skills Academy at ITC-ILO Turin, Italy, Competency Based Curriculum and Assessment (CBTA) by TAFE Commission of Australia, PRINCE2. Mr. Mia is the only certified DACUM Facilitator (Occupation and Job analysis expert) in Bangladesh from Ohio State University, USA.
