Giorgos Bithymitris holds a PhD, from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Social Policy Department. He is a Researcher (Grade C) at the National Centre for Social Research (
www.ekke.gr), with expertise in social stratification and social inequalities. His current research interests focus upon occupational and class identities, skills anticipation and labour market policies. He has published a book on trade union movement, and several academic articles and book chapters on collective identities, Greek trade unionism, labour market policies. He has participated in two recent Cedefop projects on apprenticeships and skills governance in respect. He is currently scientific responsible of a project on skills identification implemented by the Institute of Labor of the General Confederation of Workers of Greece (INE GSEE). Giorgos is member of the Board of the Hellenic Political Science Association (
www.eepe.gr) and co-founder of the EEPE’s research network “Methodology in Political Science” (
www.methodosnet.gr).
