Your words say one thing, your actions another. You must be putting us last on the totem poll for a reason. Maybe stereotypes, maybe an isolated bad experience. It doesn’t make you a bad person, it’s a natural reaction. But Kappasogyny is a dangerous and growing phenomenon with real effects for thousands of college educated black men. Don’t let misguided prejudice triumph over the better voices of your humanity.
The best way to combat these preconceptions is a deep and intense full immersion program with the object of your bias. Allow me to be your ambassador in this exercise, if only to demonstrate that Kappas have a genuine concern for the greater good.
My actions say I choose from the men who choose me. And since most of the men who look my way are Kappas, it was rare that dated non-Kappas. But when I did, I thought of it kinda like riding through the rough side of town to see what it’s like over there. The rest of my time I spend in the ‘very low crime and six day a week trash pick-up’ cushy world that is my grassy suburban subdivision. In other words, at the end of the day, my adult (serious) SO’s have been Kappas. I just like poking fun at y’all. *sits and crosses legs at the ankles*
